To be a Gunner!

Yes you support Arsenal F.C! Duh! However it takes quite a lot to be an Arsenal supporter. The fans can’t control the running of the club, so they have to bear with whatever the management comes up with. Arsenal is one of the top clubs in England and Europe in general. It has a rich history but winning trophies stopped 8 years ago, a haunting halt!
The last time Arsenal won a trophy was 2003-2004 season and since then Arsenal has only come close. In 2006 Arsenal lost in the U.E.F.A Champions league final against Barcelona FC from Spain. During then Barcelona had the mighty Ronaldinho from Brazil, Eto’o from Cameroon and other big Spaniards like Xavi, Iniesta e.t.c.  It was a really good game but due to a red card against Arsenal, Arsenal had to compensate and their chance of beating Barcelona were trimmed. Arsenal lost 2-1! Last year, 2011, Arsenal lost in the Carling Cup final against Birmingham City. Even though Carling Cup is the least superior trophy in England, Arsenal fans would have appreciated it big time, and it would have ended the trophy drought for the club.  The above two instances are the latest times Arsenal came close to winning a silverware.
Fans’ big share to a team is when trophies are won, especially big trophies. Unfortunately Manchester United, Chelsea and Man city fans have been bathing in the waters of trophy and glory, especially Man United. The only thing Arsenal fans can be proud of is the fact that Arsenal has been helping those clubs by selling big players to them. Some of the big names Arsenal has produced for these teams are Nasri, Kolo Toure, Clichy, Fabregas, and Robin Van Persie, the most recent to Man U. Most fans love when a club makes great players and wins award with him but not sell him right away. However Arsenal doesn't pay lots like these clubs do, so that’s why most of them have left Arsenal. Don’t call them traitors because they have personal goals and have other fans to please. After all they are not getting younger and they feel lucky to have made it to their prime and wouldn't mind to make more money and win awards.
Man U has been the Yankees of the British football but the role has been taken over by Man City who has been spending big and it has paid off.  Man City has won the English Premier League and FA cup in two years. Arsenal has won none because it sold its players to Man City and other big clubs willing to risk and pay hefty salaries for glory.
As maybe you've noticed, I have been talking about others club more and briefly mentioning Arsenal. That’s part of what it is to be an Arsenal FC fan. You blame other clubs for being greedy but you can also call it going BIG or taking big risks. As an Arsenal fan you don’t get what you want from Arsenal, but you take what Arsenal gives you. One thing an Arsenal fan can brag about is Arsenal’s SEXY style. Arsenal is entertaining, more than other big clubs in England. However some clubs like Chelsea, Swansea City have been adapting to the “sexy” style of playing so it’s about time Arsenal does something different before fans run out of patience.
Always entertaining as usual, Arsenal came back from 4 goals down to beat Reading FC 7 goals to 5 goals, today in Carling Cup. It was a nerve wrecking game but luckily Arsenal came back after a dismal performance in the first half. If you are considering becoming an Arsenal fan, please do some research, test how strong you are or consult with me at no cost.
I am a Gunner for life! GO ARSENAL! But please save fans from anguish, heart attack and crazy Man U, Chelsea and City fans!

Turn the Tables!

3 losses in a row! 2 epl games and 1 UEFA game. In those 3 loses, the gunners have lacked the urgency and hunger for goals. It's about time Arsenal discovers their superior touch and show their worth. The coaches, players and fans should all be ready this weekend for the rejuvenated Arsenal trying to make amends.  QPR wont be an easy challenge though.

QPR has had a poor start of the season but you cant overlook the talent and experience they have. Taarabt has had a good season and seems like a very promising youngster. I wonder how long he will stay at QPR. Shawn, Cisse, Onuoha, Hoilet etc could be a problem to the gunners.

Key obstacles that gives QPR the edge are Oxy uncertain to play, Gibbs out, fatigue from Schalke's defeat, maybe rusty Sagna, Wilshere and Pong. On the brighter side Arsenal players are very ready and positive despite tough couple of weeks invaded by losses, race issues and European football. By the way, football should unite us no matter the results on the field. You cannot win, lose or tie everyday. Don't hate the opponent because of the results.  If you think black and white is different, check out the color of your blood and bones. WE'RE ALL THE SAME. RESPECT FOR ALL!! We breathe the same Oxygen and speak the same language, Football is our language!

Sometimes a day, a week, or any moment can change the game. That's only a temporary game changer, but not the player himself. "You don't lose quality in a week," Varmaelen. Such a statement leaves no doubt he deserves the captaincy. Yeah Vermboy! Lead the gang to the peak tomorrow!

Arsenal vs QPR is one of the weekend's game that you don't wanna miss! Once again I'll put my little money on Arsenal, hopefully I don't get broke! Go gunners!!

Back in Action

EPL continues this weekend and I don't expect less from Arsenal after their players had good spells with the national teams. I was so impressed with Giroud because he proved his potential in few minutes. Giroud came  onto the match against France and within 10 minutes he scored, France tied Spain 1 to 1. Ox too had a brilliant goal and hopefully he performs well this weekend.

It won't be an easy game at Norwich City but Arsenal is well equipped to take all the three points.  Hopefully the coach puts on players who are ready to win. Luckily, the defence should be back stronger because the solid tower (Pete) is back from injury and had a goal against Sweden. Hopefully Gervinho had a rest and is ready to continue his good spell so far.

So long the defence stays strong, Santi and Arteta will do their job and own the midfield.  Giroud's confidence might be a big factor in this game against Norwich City. I will not be surprised if he starts and plays the whole game.  Jack might get some minutes but I won't bank on him to do much. Probably Sagna might play too. Sadly, Theo is out with an injury. Huge setback because he had a good super-sub role going.

I don't have much money, but the little I have is worth putting on Arsenal to win it. Pete, Gervinho and Varm could get me precious premier league fantasy points if they do well.  By the way, congrats to Arsenal for winning the club of the year 2012 award. Hopefully the players can reflect that on the field and strike a silverware this season.

On to the things that don't matter so much. I am back to blogging after taking time off settling down at my new job. God is good and my hard work paid off! Tottenham vs Chelsea is another game to watch tomorrow and hopefully Totten wins.
